Poll: What Movie Would You Want To Play As A Video Game?

November 5, 2007

What movie would you want to play as a video game? Well made, of course, by the right people.

There’s a trend of making comic books into movies into video games right now (TMNT, Spiderman, Batman, X-Men, etc…), making classic movies into games with differing success (The Godfather, Scarface, etc…), and games into movies (Resident Evil, etc…) There are several movies which I’d love to play as a video game, to interact with the movie itself.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas
I can already imagine it: an epic journey, true to the storyline of the movie, where your choices of illegal substances make or break your advancement in the game. (Rockstar, here’s your next assignment!)

Horror Movies
I’m not a big fan of horror movies, but there really aren’t any games which really scare you. Doom 3 was a scary game, but it’s not horror. Think ‘Halloween’, ‘The Shining’, ‘Scream’, etc… Ok, that last one was a little bit of a joke, but I’d be interesting, wouldn’t it?

Now that the newest generation of consoles are out (XBOX 360, PlayStation 3, Wii), the movie world could be very accurately portrayed on a gaming platform. It’s realistically possible now!

So, what movie would you want to interact with in the form of a video game? What movie would you love to see made into a video game? Your answers in the comments section below, please!

Engrish Features

Just another lovely product from China with amusing “english” product info on the back…

Do have to give some credit to the person who wrote the litany of features, as most of the text is in correct english, but that just highlights the mistakes… How many mistakes can you spot?

And once again, from the same notebook as the last two pictures, comes another “huh?” moment…

I’ll let the photo speak for itself, and you can make your own conclusions as to what exactly the color in question is supposed to be…

SKY IS OUR SERVER MACHINE?

Usually, one can decipher what was actually meant by the “english” words written. But in this case, I’m completely lost…

Drink, Drive, Die

Drink, Drive, Die

This might have been completely accidental, but it sure is funny, in an ironic way.

In Espoon Keskus (Espoo, Finland), there’s a building that houses a bar (baari), a driving school (autokoulu), and a funeral service (hautauspalvelu), all under the same roof.

Be it accidental or not, it does portray the message pretty aptly: Drinking + Driving = Death

Wonder how business is going in the establisments?

New Phone

March 10, 2006

I finally succumbed to the temptation to buy a new phone. Whilst taking my mp3 player back to the store to be repaired, I paused to browse the cell phones on display. I noticed that a phone I’d kinda wanted was on sale at an affordable price. So, the following day, wednesday, I returned to the store to buy it. So, right now I’m using my new Nokia 3230 Series 60 Symbian cell phone. It cost 270.90 euros, making it slightly pricey, yet affordable. I do have money, now I just have to be more careful and less spendthrift with my savings to save up the money to go to America this summer. I have some 600e saved up right now, with people owing me some 130e and I save 75e-200e a week, so I think I’ll have the necessary money saved up by the beginning of July. Probably won’t have the 3000e I initially had planned, but I’ll have enough so spent two weeks in visiting Erik in Jacksonville, NC.

Trouble with Technology

March 7, 2006

I just took my Creative Zen Touch (20GB) mp3 player back to the store for repair. Spent a few days frantically searching for my warranty slip and receipt for it. I hope the warranty covers the problems with it. The actual player worked, there were just several nuisances with it, plus one major problem. If I pressed the NEXT (>>|) button too many times, the player would think I pressed Shuffle instead. Sometimes when I’d turn the player off, it would say ‘Shutting Down’, but it wouldn’t. Sometimes when I turned it on, it would shut down again if I pressed any button. Sometimes it froze and I’d have to wait for the battery to die for it to work again. On top of all there nuisances, lately, just randomly, it decided to only play music through the right headphone, so in order to listen properly, I’d have to tweak the headphones by lifting them out of the socket to a particular 1/4 of a millimeter. So, in two weeks I’ll get it back fixed, of I’ll get a new one. Till then, I’m musicless…

EVENT-full weekend

December 23, 2005
16.12.2005-18.12.2005
After months of weekends without any content, due to work, brokeness, or lack of ideas, I finally had a weekend where I had plenty to do each day. Friday (16.12) my girlfriend’s parents had bought the two of us tickets to an Andrea Bocelli concert. Yes, opera. This being my first opera concert, I had a certain predisposition towards it. But, truth be told, I really enjoyed it. Honestly, i did. My brother, on the other hand, who was working at the concert (security) did not really enjoy it. So, I am looking forward to more opera in the future. A bit at a time, of course, as to slowly make myself really enjoy it in the future too. (And the tickets are really expensive…)
The next day (Saturday 17.12.) was my girlfriend Nora’s friend’s birthday party. For this we as a group went to a concert by Don Johnson Big Band at Tavastia in Helsinki. I was heavily medicated so all I drank was coffee. Yes, coffee at a club. The concert itself wasn’t really much. Not my kind of music, and honestly, the band looked bored on stage, forced in a way.

Finally, Sunday (18.12.), Nora and I went to the movies to watch King Kong. Some have liked it, some have hated it. Don’t care what you say, I loved it. Hey, I cried for the monkey! Really good movie, though won’t win the oscar for best movie. Maybe best special effects, but not the best movie of the year.

So that was last weekend, looking forward to a delicious Christmas dinner and turkey sandwiches the next morning this coming weekend!!! Merry Christmas everyone!
